Paper cutting/scissor art is gorgeous folk art from a number of different cultures of which some are Germany, France, Sweden, Mexico and of course, several Asian cultures, of which one is China.   Although it is sometimes called scissor art, the designs and art are usually made using knives.  The Chinese art is created from the thinnest tissue paper, and hand painted with bright colors.  Because the paper is so thin the paint colors  the pieces on both sides.  It amazes me that these intricate pieces are made by hand!  In our mechanized world, this delicate time consuming folk art is most amazing!  When we think of goods from China, we think of mass produced inexpensive goods - but they have wonderful, time consuming hand made art, as well.  I purchased a number of these art pieces a few years ago, and have decided to sell them.  They are so lovely, I have had a hard time parting with them!  (I have some vintage scissor art pieces from Germany for sale, as well).
This envelope of tissue horses is from China, and they are hand cut and hand painted. The Chinese have been creating this art form since about 100 AD.  The tradition, like many folk art traditions in other countries, is handed down from generation to generation.
Each horse is in a different pose.  The package that they were shipped in has a tissue horse on the front that can also be used, if you like on the front.  They can be glued to cards, framed, used for scrap booking, or making all kinds of decorations.
The horses measure between 4" and 4 3/4"  tall, and are all in mint, unused condition.  Each one has it's own tissue folder, and they ship in their original folder which has information on the back about the type of paper cutting and the people who made them, although, it's in Chinese!

All items are shipped within 24 hours of payment! I try and recycle packaging materials as much as I can. I hate adding more garbage to the environment; if you receive a box from me that has been used before, I am "recycling". I will make sure it's sturdy and the item well packaged. I will ensure your item will arrive in good condition, but the box may not be pretty (or it might be - I have to buy boxes, as well). All shipping within the US is free to you. All my packages are tracked, but if for some reason you don't receive your item or it arrives broken, I will refund your money.
